PinShot Privacy Policy

PinShot processes screenshots and recordings locally on your Mac. It does
not automatically upload your captures or send usage analytics to us.
- No automatic analytics. PinShot has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash
reporting service, and no account system.
- Local settings only. Preferences (hotkeys, save folder, options) are
stored locally on your Mac in the standard user defaults database and in
security-scoped bookmarks. To limit review reminders, PinShot also stores
local capture counts, the date of your first capture, review-request dates,
and the app versions for which a review was requested. PinShot does not
send this local reminder history to us.
- Your files stay yours. PinShot saves screenshots and recordings to a
folder you choose, using the macOS App Sandbox and security-scoped access.
It can also copy captures to your clipboard at your request. PinShot does
not upload captures to a server.
- Screen Recording permission is used solely to capture the screenshots
and recordings you explicitly trigger. PinShot never captures anything in
the background.
- Optional feedback and feature requests. These actions open an editable
draft in your email app addressed to support@variay.com. The draft
includes PinShot’s version and build number and your macOS version. No
screenshots, recordings, or logs are attached automatically. You can edit
or remove the draft contents and decide whether to send it. If you send
an email, we receive your email address, message, and any information or
attachments you choose to include. Delivery is handled by your email app
and provider.
- Reviews and external links. PinShot can request Apple’s native App
Store review dialog and open its App Store listing. The support website
opens in your browser. Apple, your browser, and the website handle those
interactions under their respective privacy policies; PinShot does not
include your screenshots, recordings, or local reminder history in these
requests or links.
